WHY 1:1 COACHING?
Latinx Professionals are working hard to live up to two sets of expectations. On the one hand, we must meet all current societal norms and on the other, we must stay true to our long-standing cultural beliefs.
The complicated nature of this balancing act is that Latinx Professionals constantly find themselves weighing their options and feeling like they must constantly sacrifice one thing for the other. The difficulty in all of this is that Latinx Professionals often are making crucial decisions with limited guidance and fragmented support.
Through all of this, one thing remains constant. Latinx Professionals want to take care of their family and want to help others, but they want to do this without sacrificing what matters is challenging.
So how can 1:1 coaching help?
First, we need to acknowledge that those who desire and deserve to live a fulfilling life are commonly those who are least supported. Second, doing it all by ourselves is detrimental to our health and our sanity. And third, having someone focus on our needs and help us work through our challenges 1:1 is powerful and necessary.
And how do I know this? Well, because I’ve been there.
Being the first in my family to get advanced degrees and training, the first to have a professional career, the first to have access to resources and opportunities, I can attest to privately feeling unsure and alone. This was all done in private because of the cultural and societal pressures to demonstrate that I had everything under control.
So after 20+ years of building myself up, overcoming many challenges, seeking support and becoming a successful Latino Leader, I now feel compelled to help those who find themselves in the same position that I used to be in. This is the essence of ZenCons Leadership & Life Coaching and this is why I’m committed to helping Latinx Professionals wanting to get to the next level.
